Beale Street Music Festival 2011 will Hot Show

The full lineup is out for this year's Beale Street Music Festival, which takes place Friday, April 29th through Sunday, May 1st at Tom Lee Park. It's being heralded by Memphis in May as "the biggest lineup ever." At the very least, it's certainly one of the most interesting and most contemporary lineups in a long time, blending the familiar mix of strong local, blues, jam-rock, and hard-rock acts with a better-than-usual blend of contemporary hip-hop/pop (Ludacris, Ke$ha) and alt/indie/roots-rock acts (Wilco, MGMT).

The Beale Street Music Festival 2011 lineup was just announced, and it’s going to be one heck of a party! The 35th annual Beale Street Music Festival is scheduled for April 29th – May 1st, 2011 and is one of the biggest celebrations in Memphis all year other than BBQ Fest.

Headliners for this year’s Beale Street Music Festival include John Mellencamp, Ludacris, Stone Temple Pilots, Flaming Lips, and Godsmack. There will be more than 60 performers over the course of the weekend.

Memphis is home to many celebrities, and if you look closely in the crowd, you may just spot one or two of them at the Beale Street Music Festival. Famous faces from Memphis include Justin Timberlake, BB King, and Cybil Shepherd, who still resides on the bluff overlooking Mud Island, where the concerts take place.
