Smartphone Market Predicted to Grow 49.2 Percent

Global smartphone market, apparently still going to record significant growth this year.

Research institute IDC estimates that in 2011, smartphone sales will grow by up to 49.2 percent compared to last year. This year is expected among the vendors will ship 450 million units of smartphones. Smartphones shipped in 2010 recorded 303.4 million.

In the context of operating systems, IDC predicts Android will still play an important role. After successfully ranked second in 2010, predicted the Android will be a major player in the smartphones market.

Ramon Llamas, senior research analyst at IDC reveals that the more serious among the vendors working on the market. They are keen to expand customers, primarily in the segment for the first time using a smartphone.

About synergy Nokia-Microsoft, Llamas said that this alliance will promote the popularity of Windows Phone 7. ''Our prediction, first WP7 phone will be released in 2012,''said Liamas.
