USB 3.0 Officially Released

Universal serial bus (USB) is one of the best inventions that revolutionized the world of technology and information. The presence of this interface that supports the creation of a portable external storage, such as USB flash disks. USB flash disk to use NAND Flash memory as storage media.

Selection of NAND Flash Memory at the time caused by a fairly large storage capacity (8 MB) and good speed. Another plus is also donated its physical size. Small-sized flash memory that allows the size of a USB flash disk into concise.

The first time out, USB only has a bandwidth of 1.5 and 12 Mbps. Bandwidth for it to be sufficient for the capacity flash disk that still amounted to 8 MB. However, more and bigger storage capacity each year so that the USB 1.0 or 1.1 is no longer sufficient for rapid data transfer.

Based on it, USB evolved into a USB 2.0 which has a bandwidth of 480 Mbps. Currently, almost all devices in circulation already implements the USB 2.0 interface. On 17 November 2008, the USB Implementers Forum announced the successor to USB 2.0, which is USB 3.0.
However, new in January 2010 and USB 3.0 was officially released. USB 3.0 is offered with a bandwidth of 5 Gbps, so you do not have to wait long when transferring large data. This is because, the bandwidth offered much larger than its predecessor.

USB 3.0 not only offers an improvement in the speed, but also the improvement and optimization of power management. USB 3.0 port that is used like a USB 2.0 port so you can still use the device with a USB 3.0 interface on the PC or notebook which only has USB 2.0 ports. Such configuration has the disadvantage in the speed because it only runs with the USB 2.0 speed only.
