Space shuttle Discovery on Thursday (03/10) at around 2:57 pm landing at Kennedy Space Center runway Florida, United States. This is the last landing of NASA's legendary aircraft that has been operating for 27 years.
"It was a perfect flight," said Discovery pilot Steven Lindsey. Now the equivalent of 5 times the aircraft speed bullet is going to spend his life seen in American museums.
Discovery on February 24, running his final mission under the leadership of Steven Lindsey and five other astronauts.
For 13 days the crew installing the storage space and sends the first humanoid robot in the International Space Station.
Since its launch in 1984, Discovery orbited 39 times in space, traveled as far as 148 million miles or the equivalent of 5830 times around the earth. Noted for 365 days this plane was in outer space with a speed of 17,400 miles per hour.
NASA now only leaves the space shuttle Endeavour's planned retirement in 2011. As for the other space shuttle Atlantis will conduct his final mission in the middle of this year.
The plan in 2030 NASA will explore Mars with a new generation of spacecraft that they had prepared.
