Windows 7 Problem Step Recorder ini dapat merekam kegiatan apa saja yang kita lakukan. Sebaiknya sebelum datang ke teknisi, kita rekam dahulu proses yang menimbulkan masalah tersebut. Setelah Anda selesai merekam, file tersebut akan disimpan kedalam dokumen MHT (webpage) yang dipaketkan menjadi file ZIP, sehingga mudah untuk dibawa.

Selain itu, kita juga bisa menggunakan aplikasi ini untuk membuat panduan langkah-demi-langkah penyelesaian sebuah masalah.
